Beaches and Packing and Birthdays, Oh My!

Long time since our last post. Things have been quite a wirlwind for us lately. First off, our little munchkin is now 1 year old! Man, time flies. It seems like yesterday we were brining her home from the hospital and I was going through about 50 baby wipes to change one diaper. Now, I’m a pro. All it takes is a wipe or two. I’ve mastered the wipe, fold, wipe, fold, wipe. I’m not sure how I’ve actually gotten good at it because Laura is the one who changes 99% of the diapers. She is a champ!

Haley’s birthday was great. We had some family in from my side and from Laura’s side. We had a ball. Haley was a little unsure of the cake at first, but she figured it out pretty quickly. She still favored lasagna over chocolate cake…go figure?!?

As I’m writing this, we’re on our way back from the beach. We stopped off in Brandon on our way and hung out with my parents for a few days. While we were there, we picked out wood, carpet and tile…more on that in a bit. We had a great time as usual. On Monday, we headed out to Fort Walton to spend a couple of day’s with Laura’s parents at their condo. Weather on Tuesday was pretty dismal most of the day, but it got really nice late in the afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday were awesome. We timed most of our driving around Haley’s sleep time, but to be honest, she was a champ. What more can you ask for than a child that is okay with 5+ hour drives!

Its a good thing we got in some R and R because we have our work cut out for us. We’re going to be packing up over the next few weeks for our big move! We’re in the process of selling our house and moving into another house in Lakeland at the end of the month. Mom and Dad are bringing up some of their crews to redo all the floors before we move in. We’re so excited about the house! It is really close to the lake (about 100 yards away from the ramp). The neighborhood is awesome and we’re still pretty close to everything that we are used to being close to. Church, work, friends, etc. My only regrets are moving away from Shelby Farms and my drive to work will now be 8 minutes instead of 4. Oh well, I guess we have to give up something! We’ve been blessed more than we could have ever imagined, but keep us in your prayers…two house closings in the next couple of weeks. Anything can happen! Pictures should be up in the next day or two of all of the events that have been taking place. I’ve REALLY been slacking in the photo department!
