Shed – Check
June 6, 2009 on 8:21 am | In Hayden and Laura | No CommentsAs usual, we can’t leave well enough alone. From the time we started looking for houses about a year and a half ago, one thing I wanted was a 3rd car garage to store a lot of my tools/stuff. Of course, the house we settled on only had a two car garage. I need my space! So, what left to do except build a shed.
My mom and dad came up this past weekend and we got to work on it. I was surprised at how much ground we covered. We tried to keep it under 200 square feet so that we didn’t need to get a permit. We managed to come in with a 14×14…196 square feet.
We still need to do the trim, but I’ve already moved a few things in. It is AMAZING how much space I can free up in the garage just by getting a few things out. Between the stroller, jogging stroller, umbrella stroller and wagon, I think I freed up 1/3 of our garage!
Below are a couple of pictures of our adventures. We started (well, Dad started) about lunch on Friday. I had to work until about 4 and then I managed to kick in and help a little. I finished nailing on the roof Monday before work. I’m sure the neighbors loved the fact that they heard hammering at 6 a.m.
A very, very, special thanks to my Mom and Dad. Without Mom’s help with Laura, Haley and Trey, I couldn’t have worked on the shed. And of course, Mom kept our “gas tanks” full with fantastic food the whole weekend. Without Dad’s help, much, much less work would have gotten done. He is a machine. Really.
