Easter at OLPH
March 31, 2010 on 4:57 pm | In Haley, Hayden and Laura, Trey | No CommentsThis past weekend we went to the Bunny Breakfast at OLPH. The kids seemed to have a ball. Especially Haley. I think she’s finally getting this egg hunting down pat. It took her a little while to realize that you don’t have to open every egg as you are putting them in your basket.
Once she got it, she was running to get eggs like a madman. She’s been asking us to hide them around the house. I’m not sure whether she is just enjoying it or she wants to get in plenty of practice before this weekend.
We’ve been LOVING this weather lately. We’ve made it a point to try to get outside for a walk or just to enjoy the weather every day. It is amazing what sunlight will do for everyone’s mood.
Trey has been talkative lately. He doesn’t have many words down yet, but one thing he does have down is barking. If a dog barks, he barks right back. It is pretty cute to watch. I think he said “Maroon” yesterday. That should make papaw really proud.
Haley and Trey are getting along very well. I have really been enjoying watching Haley love on Trey. She is puffs up so proudly when she tells people that Trey is her brother.
Here comes Peter Cottontail…
March 19, 2010 on 9:52 pm | In Haley, Hayden and Laura, Trey | No Comments We did it!! We finally got pictures of the kids in these adorable clothing sets. We have a personal seamstress that makes the most beautiful outfits for the kids. Our friends, Kathleen and Homan, have let us adopt Kathleen’s grandma as our own! She is super sweet and keeps the kids looking adorable. Thanks, Grandma! Trey is 9 1/2 months now and Haley is 3. Haley LOVES her brother so much. We had to make her stop squeezing and kissing him and just look at the camera. It was fun. Trey is a trooper and handles her love well. We couldn’t ask for cuter kids and they are equally as sweet. We are getting ready for the Easter Bunny but are looking forward to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day first. Haley is on Spring Break this week so we’ll get to spend the whole week together.
Other big news at the Simons house…we are now Pacifier-Free!! Haley has handled it very well and I am very surprised. I was SUPER anxious to tell her they were gone. We told her the new babies being born needed them. She’s proud of herself for being a big girl and has only asked about it a few times. Whew!
Bath Time
March 17, 2010 on 6:54 pm | In Haley, Trey | No CommentsJust a quick picture of our little buddies. Trey’s been taking real baths for a couple of weeks now. Haley and Trey LOVE bath time. There are usually tears involved when it is time to take them out.
Happy Birthday, Haley

Last Saturday was Haley’s birthday. Our little girl is three! We had a fairly laid back party. It was Mickey Mouse themed and as usual, Laura knocked it out of the park on decorations. She painted a larger than life Mickey Mouse that Haley just loved.
We had Hot Diggity Dogs to eat and Laura made a “toodles” that had tools to help out with the party. The “tools” were a lighter, scissors, a bell and grill tongs. Haley really got into picking out tools to help with the day.
Both of our families were at the party and Haley had a ball with Seth. It was a great day. The weather was awesome and the majority of the time was spent outside.
Tegucigalpa, Honduras
March 7, 2010 on 4:45 pm | In Hayden and Laura | No CommentsI went to Honduras last week for a mission trip. Our group arrived back on Tuesday of this past week. We had an amazing time there. We went with a group called Point of Impact. Check out their website for more information.
About half of our group (including me) spent the majority of our time building some rooms in a newly acquired facility that will be used as a church and for activities for kids. We had a blast. The weather was perfect and the company was great. From what we understand, we got them set up to open their doors to the public very soon. They already have 3 other facilities in operation like this one in Honduras. A couple of hundred kids come through each one every day. You can sponsor one of these children through the website listed above.
We also spent some time with the kids at the schools and the kids at the orphanage. What a blessing it was to get to meet these special children. I’m ready to go back already!
Couple of quick Haley pictures
March 4, 2010 on 4:32 pm | In Haley | No CommentsWanted to post these quickly. Haley and I went to the park a few weeks back when we got a day that was semi-warm. She had a blast. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up more and the time to change!
